Dry Ingredients | 2¼ cups of flour ¾ cup of shortening (preferably Crisco) 1 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon of sugar |
Wet Ingredients | 1 egg yolk ¼ cup of milk 2 tablespoons of lemon juice |
Directions | Mix the dry ingredients. Mix the wet ingredients. Combine. Divide in half. Roll between two pieces of waxed paper. This

Ingredients | 8
cups of peeled and sliced apples (preferably Cortlands) 1½ cups of sugar 1/3 stick of unsalted butter 1 to 2 tablespoons of cinnamon ½ tablespoon of nutmeg corn starch (to thicken sauce, season to preference) |

Bake pie covered at 375º F for ½ an hour.
Then uncover and bake at 350 for 20 to 40 minutes, depending on how well done you like your pie. |
